Deschutes Brewery is coming to town for our Base Camp for Beer Fanatics Tour – and we want to invite you to an awesome event, celebrating YOU as well as the culture of collaboration and craft beer! This is happening Tuesday Aug 27, 5-9pm in the parking lot next to Horse Thief Hollow!!

Our brewer, Kyle Spencer, along with Horse Thief Hollow’s brewer, Dave Williams are collaborating on a Saison recipe, which will be on tap that evening. Some other fun things in store for the evening include:

·Side by side tastings of Deschutes Brewery’s & Horse Thief Hollow’s favorite beers

·Whole flower hop giveaways – from Oregon

·Complimentary clone recipe books

·Limited sampling of some very special, rare, barrel-aged brews – such as the Collage and a never before seen brew, Black Butte XXII (22)!!!!

·And more!!!

$10 gets you in – which includes your first TWO beers or beer/food pairings. Each additional beer or pairing is $5. Can’t beat it.

Best of all, this benefits a great cause – The Beverly Arts Center.

I will post the Metra

I will post the Metra schedule for anyone interested in taking that as a group. Horse Thief is a 16 mile ride from the brewhouse if you're thinking of riding. Also, if anyone will be driving & can take others please post here.

Kyle, the Rock Island train

Kyle, the Rock Island train has stops in Beverly.  (We would get off at the 103rd St stop.)  The Metra station for this line is on LaSalle St between Congress and Van Buren; there are brown and blue line stops right next to it.

Hey guys, I'm still not sure

Hey guys, I'm still not sure if I'll be able to take the train or need to drive, it just depends on when I can skip out of work today. Here's the train schedule for the Rock Island line that leaves from the LaSalle St station at 414 S LaSalle. If you're taking the El to get there you can jump off at the LaSalle/Van Buren stop to get there. You'll be taking the Metra to the Bevery Hills 103rd St stop, which is .9 miles away from Horse Thief.

Depart   4:20/4:45/5:05/5:20/5:35/5:50

Arrive    4:48/5:13/5:33/5:47/6:03/6:17

Leaving, the schedule looks like this:

Depart 103rd St   8:02/10:20/11:20

Arrive LaSalle      8:32/10:48/11:48

I'll update this once I know when I can knock off, should know by 2pm. If you know for sure what way you'll be getting there please post here so people can meet up.

I'll be taking the Metra, but

I'll be taking the Metra, but will be trying to catch the 5:50 or 6:45 trains.  I'm hoping for 5:50, though.
