This is our monthly meeting held on the first Sunday of every month (or second Sunday in times of holiday). The meeting will discus the inner workings of CHAOS and what plans we have in store for the future. This meeting is open to all members. Everyone - existing members new and old, as well as non-members - is encouraged to attend!
Where: The meeting will be held at the brew house located at 2417 W. Hubbard.
When: The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m., informally. We will use this time to share home brew, catch up, and socialize in general. At 6:30 we will start the meeting following a set agenda...and of course you may choose to continue sharing and sampling brews during the meeting.
At 7pm we will be joined by Lance Shaner of Omega Yeast Labs for a small introductory presentation and Q&A session.
Lance at Omega wants to know if we would be interested in some yeast when he comes to visit in March:
"The new strain is a genetic hybrid of the DuPont saison strain (i.e., Wyeast 3724) and the French saison strain (Wyeast 3711). As far as we're aware, this is the first lab created hybrid brewing strain. In test batches, the strain ferments as quickly as the French saison strain (in other words, it does not have the troublesome characteristics of the DuPont strain). It has somewhat subdued phenolics compared to the French strain and has some of the bubble gum character of the DuPont strain. The pitches would have between 300 and 400 billion cells. I have been offering it for $8. Let me know if you guys are interested and if so, a ballpark figure on the number of pitches I should bring."
