Our pilot grain program was a success, so we are now making that a permanent convenience for the club. James Tsai has volunteered to take on the role of maintaining the grain supply.
Thanks to our partnership with Munton's we will be able to include Maris Otter and Propino (which is a British Pale malt) without having to use club funds for purchasing the sacks. We will also supply US Two Row and wheat. We currently have DextraPils, Crystal 60, and Crystal 120, but once they run out we will not continue to carry them.
The grains are only available to club members and will cost $1.00/pound. In addition to the grains, S-05 yeast is available for $3.50/pack.
If you pay for the grains with cash, there is a notebook for you to record the purchase and a cash box. Electronic payment is available through PayPal using the email [email protected] We are working to create a second electronic payment option through Venmo.
Munton's has provided the club with special grain pricing for our members. In order to keep the pricing confidential, we will take grain orders at each monthly meeting. The price list will be available at the meeting and you will need to provide payment when you order. Payments accepted are either cash or PayPal. Please note that a $5.00 charge will be added to each sack of Munton's grain purchased. (Maris Otter and Propino are not available for group buys.) This money will go straight to the club and allow us to grow our club reserves.
The group buys organized by Mark will still continue to take place as needed and are available to all members.
With all this grain coming into the brew house it is important for it to be picked up within 24 hours of delivery. So, in the event you are unable to be present within the window, please be sure to make arrangements for someone to secure your grain. There will be a zero tolerance policy for any grain left beyond 24 hours.Grain left beyond 24 hours will be donated to the club and sold as part of the grain program or used for Tuesday Brewsday.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or James.
