*Fruit Flies* NEW RULES

There started to be a fruit fly problem that stemmed from two regions of the brew house and has been addressed, but new rules need to be followed to make sure it doesn't happen again!

NEW RULES:

  • Garbage is to be taken out each night and the Garbage Cans overturned
  • Garbage Bags are behind the bar on the ground and should be used as needed
  • All bottles that are place in the recycling bucket need to be washed thoroughly
  • Spray all working surfaces using the purple cleaner and wipe dry after brewing

On Tuesday the fruit flies were starting to get out of control.  I poured the toilet cleaner w/bleach down the brew house drain, emptied all the garbages and Jeff along with new members Matt and Charlie rinsed all of the bottles in the recycling.

I have stopped by the brew house each morning to check on the situation and it has improved dramatically (I didn't see any fruit flies today), but we need to stay vigilant!

Don't think we'll need to go

Don't think we'll need to go that far with the Keezer plugs.  The drains and standing water are usually where they lay their eggs.

The barrels in the front were

The barrels in the front were an issue yesterday.  I tapped over the bung holes so they wernt hanging out in them.  If were going to use them as tables we should wash them good first.
