CALLING **ALL** MEMBERS - HELP OUT WITH IDES OF CIDER

Hello, CHAOS members!

Ides is coming together nicely and those of us involved in the very behind-the-scenes planning are stoked about the event.  But, we really do believe in the "community" up at the top of the screen and in our mission and we would very much like to get more members involved in making it happen.  Don't be shy!  If you've been looking for a way to take part in the community, this is a great start!

As of now, we could use the following man power or donations:

(1) decor such as some bales of hay, pumpkins, corn stalks, perhaps a few faux gas lanterns;

(2) plates, napkins, condiments (we'll be serving mostly sausage-like foods; including veg-friendly);

(3) side dishes in disposable containers (the more fall-themed they are, the better!) and serving utensils;

(4) food and beer servers (volunteer just an hour or two of your time);

(5) clean-up after the event (the more volunteers, the quicker it'll take).

I will continually update this when items need to be removed or added.

Cheers!

Jim

My whole week is devoted to

My whole week is devoted to this event. I will be in the yard and space everyday starting at 540 pm. Plus dog walk of course. Tonight, we built the stage canopy and installed the backdrop. Tomorrow needs to be installing the top, and probably resecuring the main table. And moving the fire pit.

Edward,

Edward,

THANK YOU!  Let Dave chime in on the burner but we could use another hand or two.  Probably a back-up on the grill is where we'll need you, if that's okay; otherwise another beer or food server (whichever is getting more patrons).  We're more or less working in shifts 3:00-5:30 and 5:30-8:00 p.m.  Contact David Williams to let him know which one you'd like to work.

Look forward to meeting you!  Thanks, again!

If worse comes to worse, I

If worse comes to worse, I saw all three - hay, cornstalks, and pumpkins - at Home Depot.

I heard through the grapevine, though, that Iggi was going to ask Grand Avenue Gardens (or something like that) if they would "lend" the requisite pumpkins, hay, and cornstalks to us (I suppose we'd return whatever is in perfect condition; pay for whatever is damaged).

No problem. If anyone wants

No problem. If anyone wants to help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure where to find hay but I can definitely handle the pumpkins and cornstalks. Any volunteers???

ya, just a little bit of this

ya, just a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  lets not make this into a catering thing.

We're expecting 150-175 people.  You by no means have to cook for that many.  Others of us are handling the main dishes; if 5-10 people make sides for approx. 10 people, we'll be good on sides.

I can help out with side

I can help out with side dishes, some fall themed side dish suggestions:

roasted sweet potato/squash salad (with olive oil, maple syrup and pecans)

home made applesauce (would work well with sausages)

green beans are also a good fall pick.

How many people are excepted to attend?

yes, and if you aren't already signed up for homebrewtalk.com you should be.  They're a wealth of info and also it'd be nice to show them that we're active and have members and whatnot.

I don't know if you can get

I don't know if you can get out of the city (far burbs/country) but if you can make your way to some sort of farm, hay, pumpkins, and corn stalks may be dirt cheap.  In a pinch I saw all of the above at Home Depot oddly enough.  Iggi said something about "Grand Street Gardens."  I will check with whoever is doing the layout of the yard and see how much of each we need.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!

Hey, I could do the decor

Hey, I could do the decor part (I just need to know exactly how many pumpkins, etc). I was thinking about getting some string lights to put around the trellis... Thoughts? And I'll serve beer for a few hours. Let me know what else you need help with.
