hi there

Hey,

Came across this group on HomeBrewTalk... been looking for a brew club as I end a 6 month hiatus from the hobby.  How do I get involved?  Do I pay dues or just show up to a meeting?

Yes, most events are open to

Yes, most events are open to all...the event will indicate if it is not. If you're free tomorrow (6/14) there is a beer tasting event a Sean's house.  We will be sharing and sampling brews...I know we got some Pliny too! as well as some Cigar City brews and other interesting beers to try.

Awesome, thanks!! (missing

Awesome, thanks!! (missing the first of the meetings, doh!)

I'll hope to make a meeting... and buy in soon.  I'm really looking forward to meeting some other brewers and beer geeks at a smaller scale than the CBS meetings.  And get in on the bulk buys, of course.

Can newbies attend some of your non-monthly events?

Kyle,

Welcome to CHAOS.  Glad you found us.  There are lots of ways to get involved... (and I certainly didn't list them all)

We do a monthly meeting on the first Sunday of each month.  The meeting is held at our community brew house and is a great way to get more involved with CHAOS...its also offers a great way to both share and sample homebrew.

We have an events calendar were you can sign up for or post an event.  If there is something going on in or around the city, you can post it to the calendar and allow other members to RSVP and attend with you.

The discussion board and forums are a good way to share with the community.  If you have question or answers...or just want to share the latest brew you've tried, the forums are a good place to do so.

There are also sub-groups that you can sign up for.  We have different special interest groups for things like hop gardening or beer trading.  There is a group for bulk purchases too.  If you decide to become a member, you can participate in bulk group buys.  When we buy as a group in bulk it is amazing how much you can save on things like grain and hops compared to prices you see at your local hombrew shop.

Check out the membership tab at the top of the page.  It lists the different membership levels and what they offer.  I'm sure I missed a ton of things...which that page will detail more.

Looking forward to sharing a pint with ya.

Cheers,

Dave
