June - General Meeting

I think our general meetings are best when we have a guest speaker/brewery/etc.  Thinking ahead for the June meeting, who would you like to see us invite and/or topic would you like discussed?

Ken, I'm not sure how

Ken, I'm not sure how feasible this is, but could you get someone from Lagunitas to stop by?  I feel like you have some kind of rapport with them.

If we do anything with

If we do anything with Lagunitas, I think an on-site tour would be preferable.  Not sure that would work on a Sunday night.

I've already got someone from

I've already got someone from Hippy Bear Farms coming to talk hops for June. We get a 15% discount on pre-harvest orders; 10% thereafter.

Alright...thanks Jim.  Do you

Alright...thanks Jim.  Do you think we can get them to do a hop rub of the different varieties that they offer?

No problem!

No problem!

I like the idea of Lagunitas. We took a field trip over to Une Annee for one of our meetings and that was fun.

As I look st our mission statement, we're a bit lacking on the "science." Maybe someone to make it easy to understand all the sugars in grain? Or, the science behind yeast? Or, the science behind different chemicals in brew water? Nothing too insanely technical but some bona fide science which could help the average homebrewer brew at least slightly better beer...?

I don't see why that would be

I don't see why that would be a problem, Ken. Good idea! I'll ask.
