Kickstarter Rewards

Okay...first thing - we got approved for a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for our community brew house.  However, there was one area that they encouraged us to better develop...a rewards section for donors.  We brainstormed a little bit and looked at the reward levels for other successful projects on Kickstarter.com and came up with the list at the bottom of this page.

What we need from you guys is some ideas and general feedback about the reward levels.  We also need some help filling in the upper levels of the rewards.   Were looking for your feedback on what amount those levels should be and what the reward will include.

Donation Amount Reward Description
$5.00 Thank you letter Contribute $5 and we will send you a personal message expressing our thanks for helping us fund this project
$10.00 CHAOS Sticker  As a thank you for contributing at the $10 level, we will send you a thank you letter and a custom designed sticker showcasing our club logo.  Display it proudly - this sticker will tell people that you're down with CHAOS and support things like good home brewed beer, community, and the Chicago craft beer scene.
$20.00 CHAOS Pint Glass For $20 we will send you all of the above plus a CHAOS pint glass…the perfect way to enjoy a good beer.  Pour your favorite beer into your CHAOS pint glass, kick back, take a sip, and bask in the feeling of knowing that your donation will be helping fill other pint glasses with good, local, homebrewed beer.
$30.00 CHAOS T-shirt Contribute $30 dollars and get yourself all of the above plus a custom hand made CHOAS T-shirt.  These shirts are made with 100% love by CHAOS members.  You can see the process in out kickstarter video.
$60.00 All of the above + Donor BBQ ticket Are you in the Chicago Area?  Why not contribute at the $60 level and come help us celebrate hitting our goal.  If we raise all the money necessary to complete the CHAOS community brew house, we're going to throw a grand bash - with Kickstarter donors being the guests of honor.  This party will celebrate our hard work raising funds and will reward you with home brewed beer from club members.  We will also fire up the grill and have food and refreshments to be enjoyed by all.
$60.00 Pint Glass, Sticker, T-shirt, Thank you card, and Video Not local, or just can't make it to the BBQ?  No worries, you can still contribute at the $60 level.  We will send you the pint glass, sticker, T-shirt, and a hand written thank you card.  And, since you couldn't make it, we will send you our thank you CD package.  This will include the original Kickstarter video, footage of the completed CHAOS community brew house, and a whole lot of people saying thank you!
$100.00 CHAOS Urban Dinner Contribute at the $100 dollar level, and you'll make our day.  We'll also invite you to a CHAOS urban dinner.  The diner will take place in a random, unique location around the city and will feature food from aspiring and rising talent from the culinary world.  Sound good? I get's better, the dinner will also feature pairings with beer made by CHAOS members.  These events are a great and fun way to support all things local, so if you're local - don't miss it.

yeah, me and Danny "boy"

yeah, me and Danny "boy" Barker can inquire at our job and see if we can get some gift cards or something...worth a try...we will need to have something solid in ink we can show them tho, so they dont think we are ripping them off.

and a note..should prolly go in the suggestion box...but i think it would be a good idea to have some flyers or cards to hand out at farmers markets here in the city. i go to them pretty often (when i have money).

LOL!  Daniel, you're funny!

LOL!  Daniel, you're funny!  and cheap!  I'd ask for at least 50%!!

I like the ideas you had and I do like Nilo's idea, but if $5000 is the limit, might not work. Along those same lines, I'll check with a couple of local Marriott hotels and see if I can get them to donate a 1 night stay gift certificiate or something?  I don't have any "contacts' here anymore so not sure how well it will turn out, but I'm willing to try.  I'll also inquire at HQ and see if I can get a non property specific certificate donated, that way the winner can stay and use the certificate at any Marriott world wide.  I'd say that could be the reward at that $150 to $200 level??

What about shipping a six pack of Chaos beers to a non-local donator??  Or perhaps have a beer named after them?

Keep the ideas rolling...I

Keep the ideas rolling...I should also mention that we are probably going to shoot for a 5,000 dollar project goal.  The reason we are looking at this level is due to how Kickstarter works.  People can contribute money to our project, but they are only charged if we meet our goal.  With that in mind we thought about what we needed and how much money we should realistically ask for.

The buttons i think are also a good idea, especially for the price.  Any more ideas for reward levels....we should probably have a $250 level, a $500, and a $1,000.  Niilo I like the idea of brewing a beer with us.  We just need to fit it into one of the levels.  Keep the ideas rolling.

$10,000 donation -

$10,000 donation -

We will fly you and 1 guest into Chicago for a 3 day 2 night stay.  This does include transportation to and from the airport and hotel accomodations.  While here we will brew a batch with you of your choice.  Take care of the whole process and send you the beer once ready.  Also while here embark on private tours of local breweries including tastings with brewers.  A private dinner on the night of your arrival with brewers from CHAOS with pairings provided by CHAOS and a local chef.  to end your stay we will have a BBQ and a ceremony to congratulate your investments in the CHAOS community.

Definitely word it better but why not throw on a $10,000 level.  Thoughts?

So, I have a coworker that can make us buttons, I think he said like 15 bucks for 200 or something.  He's the same guy with access to a press for the shirts.

Dan, good questions.  The

Dan, good questions.  The approval was of our idea/project - to raise funds to complete the 914 Community brew house, buy equipment, etc.  We have not yet started the actual campaign...we just got the cursory approvals from kickstarter.  We still need to complete the video, do our formal write up, and do some planning for a "thank you bbq".  The kickstarter campaign/bbq will be a way to celebrate reaching our goal (hopefully we will).  Once the video is done and our words are put up to the site, the clock will start.

I also agree with you on the non-local reward...needs something more.  I was hoping someone would have some ideas to throw out for rewards...and specifically rewards for maybe a 250 level or 500 level - even a 1000 contribution level.

third line from bottom there

third line from bottom there's a misspelled 'it' in 'it gets better'.  I think we should think of something better than a video for long-distance donors.  It just sounds like a pain-in-the-ass compensation that no one would really want anyways.

Can you let us know what is left of the kickstarter stuff to do?  Do we need to do the write-up or is that what you got approved?  The video?  The event that will motivate people to donate?  Does our timer start now for reaching our goal?

Thanks,

Daniel
