From a member of Nordeast Brewers Alliance in Minneapolis, MN. One of their founders contacted me/us regarding our pop-up dinner at Leopold; another of their founders has now extended an invitation to us for this event. He says:
"We are doing a Single Hop Experiment to be showcased at our July 19th meeting at Pracna on Main, Minneapolis Mn, from 7-9 pm and would like you to join in on the fun. ... What we are doing is, using one recipe, one water source, one yeast strain. The individual brewer will decide the hop of choice. This way we can see what each hop will do as far as bittering, flavoring, aroma, and dry hopping. ... There is no fee for this. We are just brewing these to see what each hop has to offer. Last year one of the members did Fuggles at 70 IBU, it was awful. It tasted like window cleaner. We now know what it tastes like though.
If any of your members wants to join in on the fun, the link below will give the recipe and what hops people are doing. We are trying not to double up on hops so everyone is doing something different.
