Help! we need an extension ladder to get on the roof this Sunday. If someone can bring one on Sunday or drop one off before hand I would realy appreciate it.
Same goes for circular saws, jig saws, screw guns, hammer drills, ect.
Thanks to anyone that can help and if you can let us use your tools let me know.
As some of you know, David Williams and I have been working on a hop patch at a friend’s place near Charleston, IL.Admittedly, much of my involvement up to this point has consisted of sitting in the shade drinking beer or fishing with my friends while David toiled away, but at times in between naps I have pitched in and lent a hand as I am doing now.Anyway, we wanted to see if any club members would be interested in coming down later this summer(late August) to help harvest and share in what should be the best crop yet, and have some fun
I just opened a WYeast smack pack and realized the the nutrient pack did not burst when i smacked it. I have already created a starter and added the yeast from the smack pack too then cut the nutrient pack open with a star san'd pair of scissors (same ones use to open the smack pack) and added it to my starter. Will this effect my starter? Should I go get another yeast pack and redo the starter? I've never had this happen before.
I've got some time scheduled Saturday June 8th at 10:30. Since I'm apprentice level I'll need a brewing mentor present. Also, while I have a few extract batches under my belt, I've never gone all grain, so I might need a bit of assistance and instruction and making the 101 classes during the week is proving very difficult with my work schedule. I can offer lunch or a 6-pack in return or whatever is required. I'm planning on doing a small batch of Kolsch. between 1-3 gallons.
I was thinking about making 20g of beer this weekend for the summer party, but I dont have the fermentor space for it. Im looking for 3-4 fermentors. Can anyone part with one of theirs for 2 weeks?
I am trying to reserve brew time for June 1. The "reserving brew time" page is helpful, but I am having some issues reserving time, possibly because I am an apprentice.
-I can't reserve time straight from the calendar.. I have to go to the "reserving brew time" page.
-I can't see a comments section to ask if someone to be a host for me. Do I just start a thread in the general forum like I am doing now? I can't see a 'Brewhouse schedule' forum.
I just joined at the Apprentice level, and I'm excited. I've done a few extract brews in the past, then I became an apartment dweller and had to stop due to space constrictions and such, the club seems like the perfect thing for me. So, I figure I'll share my opinions, goals, and what I'm hoping to learn here so I can get pointed in the right direction:
I'm not a fan of over-hopped IPAs, I guess I'm just tired of them.
This year camping will be June 21-23rd at fabulous Sweet Minihaha Campground. We leave in the morning from Chicago and make camp at Sweet Minihaha around noon. Check in is any time after 8 AM for early birds. We have a large group site and can accommodate at least 25 people. We have group site “A” which is right on the river and partially shaded by trees.
Friday’s brewery excursion is New Glarus Brewing possibly followed by One Barrel Brewing Company depending on interest.
