Lager Fridge Full?

Hey guys, just curious what the status of the lager fridge is looking like?  If anyone has checked inside recently, is there room for another carboy? I won't be able to make a trip over there before Saturday morning's brew session, and I'd like not to waste a perfectly good starter.

Thanks

How does a new member get started?

Forums:

Hello, I'm a new member to the club.  I took the "Intro to All Grain Brewing" class this past Saturday and had a great time.  It's very rare that a club like this meets expectations but this was even better than I could have hoped for.

I would like to work with existing members to set up the first of the three mandatory brewing rounds.  I'm not sure of the best way to go about scheduling those so could someone post here?  I would also like to get recipe for an all grain APA session beer that's not too aggressive on the hops (I know, this is lame but I want to start simple).

we love beer. here may be why...

"Scientists have long known that part of the reason alcohol induces pleasure is that intoxication leads to the release of dopamine, which is associated with the use of other drugs (as well as sleep and sex) and acts as a reward for the brain. But new research suggests that, for some people, intoxication isn’t necessary: Simply the taste of beer alone can provoke a release of the neurotransmitter within minutes".

Growing Hops

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any information on hop growing.  My Dad and I are going to plant some on our farm in Wisconsin soon.  The type of soil is black loam with a clay base underneath.  Does anyone know if their are specific hops that grow best in this soil?  I have been doing some research but have not come up with a specific type of hop.  Thanks for your help and knowledge:)
