If you've been lurking around the site but hesitant to brew for some reason, now's your chance to have a guided classes on brewing. On Monday May 20th Adam and I will take you through an extract-with-specialty-grain pale ale recipe. You will need to bring ingredients and a fernentor; CHAOS has all the other brewing equipment you'd need. Click HERE for the event litsing to see the ingredients and items you will need to bring.
The pictures on the front page are now about a year old and we've made an incredible number of changes to the BH. Is there someone out there that is good with photography and would like to spend some time taking some pictures of the brewhouse? The website committee can come up with a list of someof the stuff we might want to see to give you a start if that helps.
These pictures would get used for both the front page as well as the "About -> The Brewhouse" pages.
Thanks to everyone who helped make Cerveza de Mayo a resounding success! It was a great party with excellent beer, tasty food, and wonderful company.
I would like to especially thanks Chuck, Steven, Jim, Conrad, and Lucas for stepping up and putting in the effort to make it run so smoothly. I would like to thank everyone who contributed beer and food, and all those who volunteered for setup, cleanup, bartending, and serving. The success of the event is 100% thanks to your efforts.
I'm a brand new member and looking to brew up a Vienna Lager on Sunday morning (5/5/13) but I wanted to first make sure that there is room in the Lager fridge for a 6gal glass carboy to ferment out. Does anyone happen to know if that is the case? If not, i'll obviously need to switch up my plans quickly (prior to starting my starter tomorrow).
The Buckledown guys are opening a brewery in Lyons, also the town my brother is currently Mayor, in the near future.
If you can't make it to the Map Room for Hoppy Hour on May 14th or want to pre-game for it, this is happening at Haymarket Pub starting at 5pm: https://www.facebook.com/events/579996975358616/
I dont think we have discussed moving the monthly meeting from Sunday the 5th to Sunday the 12th. I dont have a strong opinion either way, but if we keep it on the 5th perhaps we should move the cleanup to 3pm?
