I've been trying to build interest in this event but there is currently no info on the site about it that I can direct people to. I know it's for members only, but I'm sure we could get some new members to sign up with this type of event. Even if just for a trial period. Any reason why this hasn't been posted to the calendar? Only a week and a half away! -Eric
We discussed this last night at the meeting, but we also wanted to post a reminder here as well. We're currently working on improving the loft, determining how we're going to handle storage up there (as right now its supposed to be for alchemists), and coming up with a system for it.
As such, if you have items stored up there and aren't an alchemist, please remove them by the next monthly meeting (November 4). Depending on how we decide to handle the loft, remaining items may be donated to CHAOS for general use, sold for the clubs funds, or thrown out. Thanks!
I've been asked by a couple people, so I wanted to just post it here. You can change your username by going to "My Account" on the left and then click on the "Edit" button to change your user info. Inside there you can change your username, among other things. Thanks!
The migration is ongoing. Final testing began at 2:15 PM today with a few new changes implemented.
Account and content migration began around 4:00 PM with everything finalized around 4:30.
Email notifications for new accounts began around 5:00 PM. These will occur in batches of 140 users at a time due to limitations of our host, which will only let us send a limited number of emails every hour.
My dad just called me from one of his customer's meat plants in Iowa with a question. The guy makes his own whisky but gave brewing a shot recently. He then put the beer into a corny keg & added sugar to carbonate in there, basically just taking a guess and not actually knowing if it would work. Now he wants to get it out and is wondering what to do. Here's what I thought and told him I would check in with the club to see if anyone has heard of a similar situation:
Huge thanks to everyone who helped out last night. We managed to accomplish a large number of brewhouse improvements. Well over 15 members showed up to help! While I could not always put everyone to efficient use, sheer numbers help to accomplish much more than I had hoped. Not a single improvement went as smoothly as I had hoped, but again the tenacity of the group prevailed.
Has anyone in the Chaos universe made their own Hop Back or used one. I've seen a few recipes out there that I may want to try out and they call for the use of a hop back. Just wondering if anyone has any experience that they could share. Does it work? Did you get some good flavor out of its use?
Does anyone have a filter Stephan and I can use to filter CHAOS' entry into beer hoptacular? We would need it in the next two weeks. It would really help.....
Big party after Critical Mass right by brewhouse, starts around 9pm, fresh kegs of RevBrew Cross of Gold just delivered. I'll have a variety of new ales. ~steven
We'll be doing Stout Night again this year, one of our seasonal events that showcases our members' beers. Last year was a great line up and included coffee stouts, peanut butter porters, session stouts, barreled stouts, etc...
