Okay, well, you don't actually have to be there. But, a bachelorette party has asked us if part of their bachelorette night can be with CHAOS learning about beer. Of course, we said, "YES!"
They were interested in stout. So, we're going to give them a brewing demonstration (not necessarily any real brewing), have a little food for them, have a stout tasting (4-6 different craft stouts) and then show them how to bottle an already-fermented, ready-to-go stout so they can each take home a 4- or 6-pack.
Hey Everyone, My wife Emily is hosting a charity event at Revolution brewing this Sunday. I know this is late notice, but for whatever reason it didn't occur to me to post anything on the forum until now. So if you are looking for something to do on Sunday night here is an option, and it helps a good cause. Below is an excerpt from an email she sent around.
We are going to finalize some major brew house improvements before the membership transition and meeting on October 7th. We need help, lots of help, to make this happen. The renovation will make the space easier to use as a brewer and support more brewers at once. Evan is going to get there at 3pm to get things moving, Il be there at 5.
My Goals for the evening are:
-Get the frame work (Table/burner/location) of the brew bays set up.
-Run new gas pipe to get more burners and a better layout of burners
Pintley is a new kind of beer website—one that only recommends beer you're sure to love.
Unlike other beer sites, Pintley doesn't just know beer; it also knows you. Pintley learns from your ratings and tasting notes to understand exactly what pleases your palate the most, so you can be your own beer expert.
Recently there have been many changes to the CHAOS brew house. There is a new entry and the port-o-potty has been moved so we can give 24/7 access to anyone who wants it!
(See new membership structure for details)
We also have a permanent solution for grain removal. There are two green composting bins outside the brew house. (See photo below) All spent grain can be dumped there. The grain no longer should be bagged. It has to be loose!
If you are interested in the guy running the composting service see the article below:
I left two kegs at the brewhouse last week that I had purchased from Giovanni. They have both gone missing. They have yellow/green tops, and the handles were taped together and labeled with my initials: "ACY." They were both used soda kegs that had not yet been used for brewing (i.e. they still smelled like soda). I last saw them next to the Bourbon County barrel that contains the Bourbon County clone.
Mark believes that an individual may have taken one or both of them by mistake this weekend. I would greatly appreciate if my kegs would please be returned.
I know Ed built a jig for cutting the lids off kegs... is that still at the brew space and is it available to borrow and use outside the space? I just need it for a few hours.
