Hi Chaos, how have you been!!!! I'm starting to plan the next Chaos brewery road trip. I just emailed my guy and asked for availabilty on Saturday 9/19 or Saturday 9/26. I was thinking of finding 3 breweries in the Madison area, pick up from Chaos at 11am, drop off at 10pm. It was $30 last time and I'm hoping it will stay around that. It's an old school bus and the $30 is just for the round trip ride. We can bring our own beers on the bus andd last time was a blast. I will be finding a way to collect the money 2 weeks before the ride or you will not have a seat, just cause it got kin
For the guys who put the keezer together - can you tell me where you bought the necessary parts for it? Specifically the CO2 regulators and fittings? I'm looking to make one myself.
Had a blast serving beer at the Rivers Edge Homebrew Festiv-ale on Saturday in Rock Island! We were busy the whole time, people grooved on the beers. I think we served about 14 gallons of beer, made by me, Chuck Mac, Jeff Whelply and my friend Bill Goetz. Lots of conversations about brewing and lots of folks wanted to talk about CHAOS - the concept of an urban club with a dedicated brewhouse for its members sparked tons of interest.
Since it's finally getting to be summer (90's this weekend), heat is a killer inside the brewhouse.
I noticed there was a large industrial fan in the back by the garage door. However, the A/C cord of the fan ends with what looks like an attachment - and attachment that is no longer there. Does anyone know where this extention is?
Having that fan blow air from outside in I think would help a lot (besides keeping both the front and back doors open). Or maybe there's another suggestion?
After consistently forgetting to bring ice to use for pre-chilling with the counterflow chiller, I've saved up our plastic juice bottles over the past few weeks at home and brought them to the brewhouse last night, filled them with water, and put them in the freezer.
They are for anyone to use - put a couple of the frozen bottles in the bucket of water a half hour before you need to chill and you should be good to go. Swap them out during chilling if you think its necessary.
Make sure you put them back in the freezer when you're done, for the next brewer.
Rumors are true-Chaos is going whole hog for the summer BBQ party-
We have some great food planned including-
Greens
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Pickles
Vegan Sloppy Joes
We are looking for some members out there that may have a secret bbq sauce or side salad they may be willing to donate (Coleslaw maybe, Or your Grandmas beans or potato salad)?. Or if anyone has some homeade rootbeer they would like me to incorporate into a sauce that would be great to.
So far we have (if your recipe is similiar bring some anyway)
