Lager Fridge Temp Control

Please don't touch the temperature control on the Lager Fridge.  Just don't do it.  That fridge shouldn't be in the 40's it should be about 34-36 degrees give or take a little, it will jump up in to the low 40's if you leave the door open for a minute, but it should not be set that high.  It needs to be in the mid to upper mid 30's.  I have not yet had a moment to produce the signage and the sign-in sheet, but I will get to it soon.

Forums:

I think we are at a point where we can make an announcement and start gathering folks for this.  There's a few things up in the air at this point, it has been decided that we will be doing a Coffee School.  We are currently in the process of trying to connect with one of the local roasters to secure our coffee and partner with.  Right now there are things we know and things we don't just yet:

1. Kyle will be taking lead on this one. He and I will be working together on it along with all participating brewers. It's just too big to do it correctly by myself these days.

Kyle  brought in a marked vial for measuring Star San, Rich brought in a paint pen and I carefully measured and marked the Starsan tub for 5 gallons, and Steven and I worked on a sheet of instructions and guidelines for sanitizing.  Its laminated and currently sitting by the Starsan pump bottle, although it may end up being posted/hung somewhere more prominent.

SUPERVISED BOTTLING

Forums:

I have completed my vanilla cream ale I brewed on October 9, 2015 and need to bottle my beer. I wanted to know if anyone would be available to supervise my bottling in the evening anytime during the week of November 2 to November 6 2015. I have cleaned the bottles and only need to sanitize . I will bring the corn sugar and bottling caps. Thanks for your consideration and looking forward to your response.

Sanitizing Discussion

Good Sunday morning, CHAOSers.  A big *thank you* to whomever replenished the Star San supply - outstanding!

I wanted to start a discussion about sanitizing here because I noted this morning that "1 Pump = 5 Gallons!" had been written in marker on the Star San bottle and when I measured it, that ratio was not close to the recommended dilution, which is 1 oz per five gallons.  When I tested it, by filling the measuring device on an empty Star San botle, one pump yielded less than 1/4 oz of Star San.
