I've had several inquiries about whether or not we're still having monthly meetings since they're not on the calendar. I'm assuming we'd skip Feb since the 1st Sunday is the Super Bowl and the 2nd Sunday is Valentine's Day.
But, just to confirm: monthly general membership meetings are still the 1st Sunday of every month, correct?
So we have our new kegerator in place now, which will be operational soon. There is currently a tap tower conected to the bar, this is merely to look cool for the moment, it will soon be drilled in and plumbed on top of the kegerator in the back bar. This means that the hole for a tap tower in the bar will still be open. I discussed this today with the folks who were helping us put it in, I just wanted to get it on the forum and get some ideas going. I think the best thing to do with that hole in the front bar is to install a 6-tap tower.
I brewed a Java Stout on December 29, 2015 and I now need to bottle my beer. Is there anyone who be able to supervise a bottling within the next week? I will have the bottles cleaned. I will only need to sanitize and transfer them from the fermenter to the bottling bucket and bottles. Thanks for your consideration on this matter and looking forward to your response.
Came in today and there was an open ~5lb bag of Acidulated Malt laying by the grain mill. That's now in my storage spot #1 for whoever it belongs to if they want it back. But I'd get it quick because I use it and I brew a lot.
There was also a mostly empty 55 lb sack of something else. I just threw that out.
Just curious if anyone has any experience with making a rather large stout (1.109 OG) and then kegging it. It just won't seem to take the carbonation @ 10PSI (kegerator is 38F). The rest of my beers are taking the carbonation just fine.
So my question is - does it just take more PSI to carb big beers like this because of a larger amount of unfermentable sugars?
I'm not going to lie, the application process can be cumbersome, but the job is probably better than the one you currently have, so it's worth the trouble.
Hi CHAOS, here are the meeting minutes from yesterday. If you are new or were not able to make it, these meetings are open to all members and this is often where we make decisions big and small. Please come and make your voice heard!
Call to order at 4:51 pm
Board members in attendance: Ken, Mark, Matt, Mike, Stephen, Kyle, Jeff, Conrad. Missing Joe and Nancy.
Hey guys! I'm going to be in the area later and wanted to stop in and meet everyone before I come in and brew Tuesday. Problem is, my card still hasn't arrived at my place yet (in-city mail is notoriously slow in my area). I was just wondering if it was going to be a problem getting in; I have membership stuff on my phone!
