Wondering if anyone knows who's carboy is in the fridge next to lagering chamber? It's a big mouth bubbler with no tag or other identifying mark to say who it belongs too. It's been in there for at least two weeks already, the reason I'm asking is because I would like to cold crash a beer this weekend. There are two carboys in the fridge that have been in there about the same amount of time, I already emailed the owner of the first carboy hoping to get a timeframe for how long it will be in there.
CHAOS is going to Rivers Edge Homebrew Festival on July 18th in Rock Island - Jeff brewed a vanilla cream ale to bring to the festival and I'm bringing a keg of Summer Wheat Ale (which recently took a bronze medal at the Bluegrass Cup - huzzah!).
We'll have a table, can put up a CHAOS sign and publicize the club, and because we're serving, get up to ten free admissions to the festival.
Hey everybody, I just wanted to post a reminder that we have a CHAOS In The News page here on the site, and the last item listed was in January. I feel like I may have heard about other features or articles about the club since then, but maybe this year has just been going fast and I'm thinking of stuff that happened last fall.
In any case, if CHAOS has been mentioned anywhere in the news lately, let's get it listed there!
Is anybody brewing with an american ale strain on Sunday? I'd like to bank it from a pack and prop it up for my next brew on 7/4 weekend. My last 1056 plate was virtually unsalvagably contaminated with penicilium or aspergillus, and it's easier to restreak from pure than isolating over the course of several weeks.
I will be installing the yeast bank refrigerator under the bar soon (unless anybody has any objections to that location, or suggestion for a better one).
I have no computer at teh momet and rely heavily on my work computer to sign in to CHAOS but for the last week I keep getting an error message that states that there was a "Handshake Fail". I am not sure if its on my side that the issue is but could someone help?
I'll be in SF next week for work. I was curious if anyone had recommendations for brewpubs. I will not have a car and will be in the convention center area.
