Forums:

Our esteemed colleaugue and Hop School Professor Emiritus Jeff Whelpley has had a package of Jarrylo hops go missing from the freezer, these hops are critical to the operation of hop school as those are necessary for the Dry Hopping of Jeff's IPA, if you have any information regarding their wherabouts please contact either Jeff or me immediately, I understand things get moved around sometimes, shuffled about, perhaps you accidently used them because you grabbed the wrong package, it's a shared space with many inhabitants and these things occasionally happen, whatever the reason is fine, we

Hello, CHAOS!

For those of you who don't know, Noah Himmel of Gino's East took a real shining to CHAOS a couple years ago and reached out to us about a collab. After some discussion and now that the brewpub is up and running, it sounds like they're ready to start working with us more regularly and more closely (I just got off the phone with Kevin McMahon, head brewer at Gino's, who's excited about working with us!).

Counter Flow Issues

Forums:

Hey guys,

while using the counter flow, I noticed that the tap water from the hose coupling going into the counter flow is spewing water. It worked fine but the waste of water seems like a shame and a cost. I tried tightening it, but it appears the coupling might be damaged and need replacing.

Unrelated, and I don't mean to put anyone on blast, someone left an ankle sock in the ferm room. I am sure it was an impromptu rag to clean something but I had to throw it away out of sanitation concerns.

DLD limo

Forums:

Going to DLD.  my friend and I are thinking about getting a limo to/from munster.  We need 4-5 more peole.  We'd likely leave chicago around 10:00 AM and leave munster around 7:00 PM.  It loooks like it will be between $50-70 per person for the round trip.  Slightly more comfortable alternative to the shutttle route.  Anyone interested?

New Lagering Fridge?

This is in my office hallway right now. Trying to figure out if it's free/donation or what amount the lady is asking for it (was a florist shops fridge). It works without issue and thought if might be a better solution for lagering as we could fit more carboys in it. I'd like to get a decision very quickly if it's worth persuing.

Flavor tripping "class"

There is a new cafe in my neighborhood by Chef Omaro Cantu that centers around this tropical berry called the "miracle berry".  The miracle berry has a protein that binds on flavor receptors on your tongue and cancels out bitter and sour flavors.  Chef Cantu has a lot of unsweetened pastries and sodas and stuff, so you chew this berry for a minute, then all of a sudden the pastries that were not very sweet at all change flavors and become very sweet.  His intention is to let you eat sweets without the ill effects of sugar on your health.
