Meeting to order 4:49

Motion approved November meeting notes

 

Attended: Conrad, ken, josh, Dave, Matt, Mark, Nancy, Stephen, Jamie, Jeff, chuck, Jim, Brock

 

NHC proposal and budget: 

- ghost buster style dispensing beer

- serve 2 beers during our session, costs associated with that. Thinking serving barrel aged and a group brew day beer

- last year budget was $750 for NHC 

- we can repurpose the packs 

Comment Box/Idea Tracker

I just made the quip in a different thread that ideas are tossed out and never gain traction. But, it gave me an idea: just like there's a project tracker in the Brewhouse Committee forum, why don't we have an "Idea tracker" or "comments form"? Any member can submit ideas/comments via the website and at the monthly meeting the Board discussions with attendees and prioritizes whatever ideas/comments have come in since the last meeting.

Chaos road trip to Arclight Brewery

Hi Chaos!  While talking to some guys at the brewhouse Saturday, I found out a former member is a head brewer at Arclight Brewery in Watervliet, Michigan.  I contacted Reggie's and they said it would be roughly $30 a person based on a round trip bus ride from Reggie's to Arclight from a rough time estimate of 11-9.  This is for 25 people and the quote is very loose. I feel we should do a couple breweries on this trip, but don't know of any good ones on the way.  I don't think we should go past Kalamazoo, either, so we don't spend too much time on the road.

Volunteers to lead "Beer Reports" at monthly meetings

Hi all.  We are going to be adding a quick segment to our general meetings called a "Beer Report" and I need your help.

The premise is that a member or members pick a style of beer that they like or would like to learn more about. Spend 5 minutes and enlighten everyone with a brief overview of the style, what you like/don't like about it, commercial examples any tips for brewing it. The member should bring enough beer to sample for the other members (2-3 bombers or a 6-pack) in that specific style. CHAOS will reimburse you for the beer you bought, up to $15.
