Was talking to a few newer members this weekend and just wanted to mention, don't be shy signing up to volunteer for the party, Jamie says there are still spots open, great opportunity to meet more members.
I got no design skills, I need someone to put together some snappy signage for the malt school. just a poster board or two, Hand drawn is cool, printed is cool too.
Here is some of the info we were thinking about in the malt school thread, very open to suggestions, just wanting to get the ball rolling:
Here are some ideas I have. Gonna need a graphics person probably to help design the signage for it. I'm thinking something like a large posterboard with something along the lines of:
There are 4 key ingredients in beer, Water, Malt, Yeast, and Hops
I couldn't locate the original thread, my apologies for that. The flies seemed to be back pretty strong while brewing today. One thing I noticed was they really like to hang out on the yellow gas flex-lines, I believe I took out quite a few by way of sneak attack with a spray bottle of star san while they were congregating on those lines. I don't know if star san kills fruit flies, but at the very least they are sanitized, soaking wet and really disappointed in me, so at least we have that going for us.
Saw the AHA is now offering insurance to cover homebrew clubs. Not sure if this is something that would be of use to us in addition to our current coverage.
So, I'm doing a Brooklyn Summer Clone for the party and mixing it with 100% pure grapefruit juice. I did this once before and the result was pretty good. If you like tart, grapefruit beers, then this is probably up your alley. However, for the party I was thinking about trying to sweeten it up a bit. I still like the idea of using 100% grapefruit juice, but is there a way I can make it a bit sweeter? Is this as simple as adding some sugar when I add the juice as well?
Basically the timeline looks like this (transfering into different fermenters/vessels each stage):
I'm trying to order some sticker/decals of our wooden sign graphic (in the upper left of our web-page) but all I have is a really low res .png file. Does anyone have a high res version?
