I know that someone besides me (maybe James Faircloth) posted about Capone's Liquors up on Elston wanting to partner with us. I also recall this person mentioning Freddy, the owner. I also remember this person said that Freddy would like me/us to call to talk about partnering and gave the phone number.
I've tried to use the "Search" box with keywords "Capone", "Capone's", "Freddy", "Freddie" and even with some wild card * searches; I'm coming up with nothing besides the post I myself wrote.
Is it just I who continues to have sub-par encounters with staff at Brew & Grow Kedzie?
The staff at Morgan St. is so awesome: friendly, helpful, enthusiastic about brewing. The staff at Kedzie doesn't even seem to care that you're giving them a sale much less that you're into homebrewing: the freakin' theme of their store! Or perhaps they're more interested in the "grow" part of their operation...
Hi, all. I have some questions the answers to which will help me more accurately gauge CHAOS' portion of the gas bill each month.
The CHAOS community brew house is on the same gas line as the tenants; i.e., no separate meter. So...
(1) Does anyone know where to get a cheap (or free?!?!) meter we can attach where the gas line enters the brew house to get an exact reading of what the brew house is using?
Online time lapse documentry on brewing circa 1933 made by the British...it is 8 minutes long but gives you good information on how hops grow, yeast works, and barley is malted...great for newbies to brewing.
these are some questions to the typical chaosbrewclub.net website user in regards to our event listing on the side tool bar. please offer us some feedback...
how many of you regularly check out the events section to see whats going on?
what do you want to see in an event listing other than the obvious details of location and time?
do you want to see event listings other than just CHAOS' such as tastings at restaurants/bars that are not necessarily hosted by a CHAOS member or committee?
I am currently scheduled for brewtime next Thursday, Jan 3 at 7:30 PM. I am planning on brewing my second batch. My friend Jamie (joining soon) will be working with me (his first brew). We are planning on brewing a porter and need a sponsor. We will also be bottling my first batch (time allowing). Just about any evening after the first of the year will work. Let me know if you can help us out. Thanks in advance.
I bottled my barrel aged imperial red about 3 weeks ago. Just openned my first bottle. It seems to be overcarbed. Not even close to gushing or anything but its overcarbed for the style of beer. What can I do? I'm giving this beer away as a gift so I'd really like to fix this problem. Would opening every bottle and letting them sit for a while and then recapping them do anything? Open for suggestions. Thanks!
Hello all, I'm new here. I just managed to get my hands on a keg to turn into a keggle and I'm trying to decide whether to go weldless or welded with my fittings. I'm leaning towards weldless, because quite honestly I don't know how to weld. Does the club have any welder connections?
So, it seems a lot of people aren't following the original thread anymore (understandable since it's been around awhile). We need some information from people. I haven't heard from many people and am beginning to wonder whether or not everyone who initially signed up to brew are still going to do that. Please touch base with me if you volunteered, just to let me know if you're still planning on contributing.
Here's a repost of Stephen Lane's post in the thread concerning our official signup sheet:
