Dark Lord Day Bus

Forums:

Last year a friend of mine got together a bus for Dark Lord Day. I might be organizing it myself this year. I am trying to gauge interest.

The bus cost $25 a person. It left from Division and Milwaukee at 8:15 am and leaves 3F @ 7:30pm.

30 spots on the bus.

Let me know.

Barrel Drop Off

Forums:

Would it be possible for me to drop off the 2 barrels I got from Goose Island at the Brew House tomorrow 3/29?  I am planning on swinging by the brew house around 6pm before Wing Night.  Is there room for my 2 barrels?  Also, will there be any alchemists around to let me in?  I also have to drop off my 5 gallon for the imperial red and pick up my grain from the group grain buy.  Let me know if 6 works.  Thanks!

Kettle Project

Forums:

Hey Guys-

I'm thinking about installing a ball valve, sight glass, and thermometer on my SS brew kettle.  Weldless fittings seem like the easiest way to go, and the parts are relatively cheap.  However, I know less than nothing about working with metal, and even if I knew what type of drill bit to buy, I'm not even sure my POS drill would be up to the task.  If I try to drill the holes on my own, I guarantee I'd ruin the kettle, break the drill, get hurt, and probably start an electrical fire that would burn the city down for the second time.

Kegging and Force Carbonating

Forums:

Some of you know that I am new to kegging (have the stuff but haven't kegged a batch yet) and I am wondering what people to force carbonate and serve within a few days. I've done a bit of reading online as to what some people do but I am wondering what you all do.

I am looking to keg two batches on Sunday and have them ready to go on Wednesday night and want to know what you all recommend as the proper procedure/best method.

help with stout recipe

Forums:

I am trying to put together a nice stout that will taste good after only 14 days in primary, then straight into a keg to be served the next day. I used the interwebs and this is what I came up with...

6.5 or 7 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
1.5 lb White Wheat Malt (2.4 SRM)
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt 60L
0.75 lb Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Roasted Barley (300.0 SRM)
0.50 lb Lactose (Boil 10 min)
