I'm going to clean out the fridge and freezer in the back of the brewhouse so we have room for food for 400 people, so if you have anything you want in there come and grab it by the monthly meeting tomorrow night
Hi Everyone, Im a new member hoping to do a 2nd supervised brew this saturday with a friend of mine. Ive been homebrewing for a couple years mostly extracts and now work as an assistant brewer at District Brew Yards / Burnt City and trying to keep learning and experimenting on my own.
Please let me know if anyone is available to do a supervised brew while they will be there this Saturday, thanks!
Hi all! BrewBQ is a little more than a month away! We will have the "beer engine" on hand to pump up to three Real British Ales for the party. Mike T will make a Best Bitter (pale english ale) and Steven Lane is also brewing a beer for this (sorry Steven - forgot what type!?)
CHAOS has been invited to serve homebrew samples at Chicago Bike Revolution, a festival supporting West Town Bikes on Sat Sep 7th in Humboldt Park. If you remember New Belgium's Tour De Fat, this will be like that with lots of bike games and music all day long. Revolution Brewing is the main sponsor, so the only beer available all day will be RevBrew & CHAOS! Thankfully we'll be serving our samples for free and do not have to deal with collecting drink tokens.
Just a heads up to anyone wanting to bottle/brew at Chaos. You MUST put in a reservation into the system to use a station. Please don’t just stop by randomly to bottle/keg your beers. Last night we had over 13 people trying to keg, brew, and bottle at the same time. That’s unacceptable! There isn’t enough room in the brewhouse for this many people trying to work and make good beer. It causes unneeded stress for those that have reserved a brew station or bottling station. Also, respect people’s work space while they are brewing/bottling.
We have a 52 gallon Buffalo Trace Barrel (fresh dump) from Hailstorm Brewing. It was an extra on their most recent barrel buy. These barrel's are used for their BA series beers. I would like to get 6 brew groups together to produce 10 gallons of Russian Imperial each. Team collaboration is highly encouraged.
This is a post to organize us specifically for the Friday before CdM.
I want to get a list of who can help do prep for setup and what all needs to be done. I'm new to this part organizing and it's *literally* CHAOS so the more hands and brains working together, the better.
