I'm going to do a get-together for my birthday on the 14th at the brewhouse, 7pm - whenever. I'll do some BBQ and grilling and have food and beer until it runs out. Feel free to pot luck and bring some beer. Open invitation!
The Goose Island Barrel Warehouse Tour is for CHAOS Members
( Alchemists, Brewers, Trial Brewers, and Friends of CHAOS) BTW....Alchemists get a +1 like for a party.
I saw these today on sale on Amazon for ~$10. Considering how quickly we go through lighters, and how shitty the ones we use typically are, these could be a nice, money-saving upgrade. Maybe someone has tried them out? Thoughts?
I'm putting some feelers out there to see who might be interested in collaborating on co-brews through the end of the year. There are 17 affiliated competitions in the Midwest Homebrewers Circuit throughout the year. Including: Drunk Monk, Charlie Orr and Spooky Brew.
Came in this morning to see this. I hate to be that guy, but this is basic stuff. Cleaning around the mill is part of the checklist. Can everyone that closes up, even crafty vets, follow the checklist before they depart.
This year's AHA convention is going to take place in Portland at the end of June. Since I doubt that any of us will end up driving over there, a fixed booth (like the awesome one we set up last year) seems impractical for Club Night.
As of now, six students from the Daley College/CHAOS class are interested in becoming members and starting to brew. We need CHAOS members who are willing to become brewing mentors for these new brewers - supervising their brew day, but more than that, helping them all the way from selecting what style they want to brew through bottling.
As of this moment, James Faircloth and I are the only CHAOSites who have entered beers in the Charlie Orr Memorial Chicago Cup. Entering competitions and the feedback you get is an excellent way to improve your brewing. Plus, it gives the club gravitas.
