Brew Buddy Needed

Forums:

Hey all,

New member here. I met some of you at last night’s chapter meeting and got a tour of the brewhouse from Jeff. Looking for a brew buddy in the next week or two.

Experience wise, I’ve brewed 7 total batches. First was stovetop extract, then a few stovetop brew in a bag, then a few brew in a bag on propane burner with immersion chiller hooked up to a garden hose. So I’m comfortable with the process, with the exception of lautering as I’ve simply pulled out the grain bag after my mash.

Equipment for Sale

Some of you may know my friend Tom Willmot, a brewer at Goose Island.  He's getting rid of a bunch of homebrew equipment.  The backstory is that he was a homebrewer before becoming a professional brewer, all his old equipment is stored at his mother's home and she is selling her home, so it has to go.  He's not going to homebrew and doesn't have the space for it, in any case.  You can contact him directly at twwillm@gmail.com

If anyone is interested in going to Chicago Gourmet food festival on Sunday let me know. Tickets were $225/ticket but I’m willing to sell the 2 tickets for $180/tickets. It’s one of the coolest food/drink events in Chicago. I’m going Saturday now instead and going to the Bears game Sunday. https://www.chicagogourmet.org tickets include all you can eat and drink from some of the best restaurants in Chicago.

RSVP Here

In anticipation of CHAOS's Club-Only Competition in November, Lo-Rez Brewing is hosting CHAOS for a Tropical Stout tasting and calibration.  We'll taste the only widely distributed Tropical Stout in Illinois, Dragon Stout, which is brewed in Jamaica by Red Stripe, as well as Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and Bell's Double Cream Stout - two related styles, to compare and contrast.

Garage door issues

Forums:

Hi CHAOS. I stopped by today and kegged a couple beers. On my way out the garbage door wouldn’t close. After I pressed the button and got out of the way, it would stop at various stages during its descent and go right back up. This happened many etimes until I gave up and manually closed it from the inside and left out the front and locked the door using the key.  Those instructions are in the door code section of this site. Does anyone know what’s wrong with the garage door?

NFL Confidence Pool

Forums:

Last year we did a group NFL confidence Pool (Pick'em through ESPN) and had a lot of fun.  After several requests, we've decided to do it again this year.  Season dues are $50 and we will have a weekly payout for 1st place along with a season end payout for 1st-3rd place.  Amounts for payouts will be determined once we have a lock on the number of players.  The more people we have playing the bigger the payouts will be - so feel free to invite family and friends to join in the fun.
