The Friends of the Forest Preserve are looking for about 20 volunteers for Beer in the Woods to work from 230-630 on various tasks throughout the event. Those that volunteer are given entry to the event to enjoy beer from 1-230, a tshirt, and a mug. If you are interested in taking advantage of this and helping out the cause let me know by September 10th
Arrived this morning to see the garage door wide open. Doesn't look like anything is missing or disturbed. But a reminder: the door is fickle, it will pop back up and open after closing sorta randomly. Everyone must wait to see it go all the way down and stay closed before heading off. (perhaps this needs to be added to the closing to-do list)
I requested to do externship with Chaos Brew Club for one semester but I just got emergency to go back to Thailand.
I quit school to day and will fly back to Thailand on July 12 2018.
I apologize for not being to continue doing it.
Hey everyone, We are participating in Beer in the Woods again this year. It is September 29th from 2-6 in Labagh Woods on the northside. It is a few weeks after Great Lakes but I would also like a few beers to be brewed. They have a rare beer tent as well and I believe we brought some for that last year. I currently have three sign ups and would like a few more and if anyone has anything “rare” possibly BA or aged on wood that would be interesting. Please sign up on the link below. This one is still a little ways off, but wanted to get a thread going on this so those who want to participate can start planning out there beers and lodging. This is a really great festival, with a very large homebrew club participation. Basically, our booth pretty much runs it and we have a blast. Online information and registration for the January 2019 Chicago-area BJCP Beer Judging Examination. This is being posted here and with BOSS first, so that CHAOS and BOSS members have a timely opportunity to register, but it is open to anyone. There are currently no other Chicago-area exams on the calendar through the end of next year (2019).
The summer solstice, the longest day of the year, is coming up on June 24th. We've been celebrating this holiday in our family since the four of us experienced it together in Sweden. We claim this heritage and tradition, the Midsommar, from Nancy's family and have found it meaningful for us.
