Have been getting into more Podcast lately and thought popped in my mind. Has Chaos ever thought about hosting a weekly podcast? Between the wealth of knowledge at the club and our guest in the industry that come to the club we have plenty of material. Not sure if we'd want to impose on the band but they do have great audio equipment already set up. If not we can get some cheap stuff set up in our space upstairs. I think it can turn into revenue for the club or at least a great way to reach out and get exposure for new memberships and parties.
Hey bottle people, I rinsed out the bombers and large format bottles from the party and left them on the short brew station table over by the ferm room door, so go get 'em.
I am organizing and schedule the cleaning day for the storage run on June 2nd. With Dark Lord day and Goose next weekend and then Memorial Day the following this is the best available day. Please let me know if you are willing to help as I hop I don’t have to go at it alone.
I'm organizing a Beer/Cheese/Food pairing event in a couple of weeks. There will be some brewers there, but mostly not. I wrote up an intro to tasting beer, aimed at non-beer-geeks that I'm going to distribute to the 55 who have RSVP'd, in the next day or two. I'd love to get some feedback on it. Thanks in advance.
I bottled this morning and on my way out I noticed the red backlighting to the bar was on (I'm assuming from the previous night, maybe). I couldn't seem to figure out how to turn it off. Anyone know where the switch is?
Also, I went to remove the tubing from the plastic siphon and I broke the cane-shaped piece. Anyone know roughly how much this item costs? I can leave cash in the box upstairs. Sorry about that one.
My friend Karen Shaw (who helped judge at a CHAOS competition last year) runs a canning line for breweries that don't have their own. Next week, she will be at Urban Renewal Brewing In Andersonville and Urban Renewal is looking for 2-3 people for packaging assistance on Thursday 5/10 and Saturday 5/12 from 10-12 (or so). Bring your growlers and fill them, enjoy a beer or two during the shift, and take some cans to go. Please text 708-465-7117 if you are interested.
If anyone has any Belgian or Corked Beer bottles that you aren't using or are going to throw away I would love to take them off your hands. I am wanting to bottle condition and cork 10 gallons of some beers I brewed with the Omega yeast that was donated. I only have a few of them and I know we have several people that enjoy this style. If you open any bottles like this at home in the next 2 weeks would you mind saving them and dropping the bottles at the brew house for me the next time you're at CHAOS?
I just wanted to put this out to our group as it starts to warm up and critters and bugs start to show up in Chicago. A few of us put a lot of work into securing our brew space for everyone to keep out critters and we haven't seen any in a really long time.
