We ordered new CHAOS Taster Glasses that will be sold at Stout and Chili Night for $6, or 2 for $10. They're 5.5 oz footed snifter glasses that would be a unique addition to your #glasswhalez collection and the only vessel worthy of the sick beer line up that we've put together for Stout and Chili night. Plus, just think how awesome you'll be when you show up to the next bottle share with these bad boys!
Hey Brewsters, we've been asked to brew beer for CHIditarod, Saturday March 3rd.
CHIditarod is an annual shopping cart race that raises food and money to fight hunger in Chicago. Every March they collect tons of food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, as well as raising tens of thousands of dollars for community grant awards given out by the CHIditarod Foundation throughout the year.
Hey all, I'm still working on getting my first brews supervised. I left my paperwork in the brewhouse in the folder for all that and I couldn't find the folder last time I was there. Does anyone know where that's at?
Anyone else make labels sometimes? While I've gotten out of the habit of making labels, its nice when I'm giving beer away. I'm no designer but threw these together this evening:
I have been using the immersion chiller at the brewhouse for my last few brews with really great results. Tonight I was able to cool my wort to 64F in <15 minutes.
It’s super easy and quick to sanitize and setup and just as easy to clean and put away. No long process to setup and run PBW and water and StarSan before chilling. no playing around with the pump and flow, and no timely cleanup.
It can mess with your whirlpool, but that’s manageable.
Just wanted to let you know, when i popped into the brewhouse this morning the lights were on, and the carboy washers were still full with dirty water. I took care of it, so whoever you are, pay it forward next time.
Hey everyone, the poll results are in and we are going to do an Additives school for the upcoming Stout and Chili night. A very apt school for the party as we are going to blend the worlds of beer and food together. For the school we are going to talk about adding different flavorings/spices/fruits/vegetables, etc to your beer and the techniques involved to get the flavor you crave. Ideally we will get a diverse population of additives so that we can talk about a lot of different topics. I am going to reach out to a few members to see if they would like to brew for the school.
