If anyone is interested in a used 5 gallon rum barrel I can get them for $95 + shipping. They are coming from Old Sugar Distillery in Wisco. I can get them through John who we order through for bulk hops. He has them on HBT for $110 but will give us a discount. They are the same barrels that I aged my big ass stout in and the same as the 10 gallons that are at the brew house.
If you are one of the brewers that volunteered to brew up a batch for Ides, we need to know a little more about your beer. Please give us some info about your brew, including:

I will be starting a conversion of a chest freezer to a "keezer" this Saturday at CHAOS headquarters (1329 W. Grand). This weekend I will be cleaning the freezer, building a collar, and painting the sides. May be doing some work with the gas side of the project if parts come in and time allows. If you are in town, have some free time and would like to help - let me know. The Keezer will be used for the Ides of Cider event and afterwards I will be donating it to the new brew house.
A guy I work with is the banjo player for a bluegrass band called Hayward. You can listen to a few of their songs at the following link: http://www.myspace.com/haywardbluegrass. These guys are interested in playing at Ides. Do we need another band? What did we offer Flatland Ramble? Free beer?
I am going to need some help at the brewery tonight. At Finch's not at the brew house. Ideally from 2pm to around 10pm. I will send you home with a case of beer for your help. Message me if you are interested. Might need help the rest of the week so if you are interested for another night let me know.
Ides is coming together nicely and those of us involved in the very behind-the-scenes planning are stoked about the event. But, we really do believe in the "community" up at the top of the screen and in our mission and we would very much like to get more members involved in making it happen. Don't be shy! If you've been looking for a way to take part in the community, this is a great start!
As of now, we could use the following man power or donations:
