My new year resolution is to brew more, and we could use more beer in the keezer, so I'm launching Stylin Sundays for 2017 (every second Sunday.)
I was thinking of brewing from 2-8pm (after the morning crew clears.) Sunday afternoon/evening is kind of a dead zone in the brew schedule. It's a good time for me, and I was hoping new brewers would find it helpful to have another time besides Open House and Tuesday Brewsday to check things out and get assistance.
I know someone who is trying to get rid of 5 food safe, thick plastic fermenters (for free).
These were meant for wine & were being used for other purposes & there's two 2" holes in each of them. They can be plugged but it would leak with liquids. I was thinking it might be useful for dry storage?
I know the club was thinking about having some ingredients on sight. This might be a good solution for storing a whole boatloat of 2 row or something similar.
Just a heads up. Chicago distilling company is selling 5 gallon and 10 gallon barrels for $75. Take a look at their website or Twitter account. Looks like they have rye and single malt barrels.
the clear hose leading to the underside of the sink ruptured while I was brewing today. I cut off the damaged section and reattached it with the ring clamp. It was still leaking a bit so I turned off the valve leading to it for now ( the valve is under the wort chiller cart). I figured someone who was more proficient with these things might want to double check it.
I forgot my Kindle Fire at the brewhouse Thursday night. Can someone please put it in one of my storage spots or behind the bar? I think it's by the stereo or at brew bay #2. Thanks!
