Lager Fridge Space

Forums:

Noticed the lager fridge is looking pretty full. I'm hoping to get one in there in May 10th. Just wanted to make a public declaration of my intentions, hopefully someone will have moved their brew on by then. Should we set up a reservation system similar to the brew bays so people can plan ahead, it would be unfortunate for someone to go through the trouble of making a starter and showing up ready to get your lager on only to be left out of the cold.

Carboys, Grain, Misc For Club

Forums:

I have four homer buckets of grain (some C60, 2-row, and rye) as well as three carboys (with matching blow-offs) and some other misc. stuff (e.g., digital kitchen scale we can use for measuring hops, temp controller for a keezer, brew belt, &c.). Only thing is it's on our back porch and I have no car.

If someone can swing by and pick it all up at some point, they can all be for the club. We're two blocks from the old brew house (near Grand & Ogden).

Learn to Decoct

Do you enjoy wasting time perform unnecessary historical techniques because you've convinced yourself there may be a bit richer flavor because of it. Then decoction mashing is for you. I'll be performing one Saturday the 26th on a hefeweizen. Come and learn if you're interested. I'm by no means an expert yet, but I'm trying to be, and I'll gladly share my knowledge and experience I've gained this far.

Spent Grain Dog Biscuit Recipe (included)

Forums:

Hi Guys,

If you're like me, you may have been considering ways to reuse your grain (aside from donating it in the green bins for the compost/feed guy). Well, if you haven't already figured out a way to reuse your grain (of which I'm sure there are many), here is a recipe from a Brooklyn Brew Shop book I have for Spent Grain Dog Biscuits. They are super easy to make and my dog loves them. (One note: I've made these a few times and by now I feel like the recipe might use a bit too much peanut butter. I may reduce it a bit if you're going to take a crack at it.)

Wanna be on a TV show about brewing?

Hey, CHAOS. I've been in touch with William Acks from Part2 Pictures in New York and he's been sharing his idea for a TV show on homebrewers/brewing. Find below their casting letter if anyone's interested. Would be an awesome opoportunity to get yourself a part on the show just by being an avid homebrewer!!!!

Need help: CHAOS is getting new appliances 4/12

Forums:

My GF is donating a fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher to the club. We will be renting a box truck (or if you have one that will work - let me know!) and picking them up this Saturday 4/12. Most likely meet at the clubhouse and go from there.

I will need some help moving these things from her place (second story) to the brewhouse. Please let me know if you can make it.
