Hello all. My brewing buddy and I are looking to join and had a couple questions about the Brewhouse. We generally brew at my place in Uptown, but recently have a need to brew a bigger batch than we can handle with our setup. A friend of ours sent us a 15gal spent bourbon barrel. We have a 15gal kettle and a mash tun that maxes out @ 30lbs of grain, so we can brew 7.5gal of high gravity wort. We are hoping to join and use the brewhouse and brew 2 batches of an Imperial stout recipe in one day for the barrel.
At BJCP class last night, James said we are low on club Chaos business cards. These are two good resources for printing, both of which I have used. They are cheap and fast. I've provided the links below. I think Steven has the art files for the cards... right? You can just direct upload online, or if you'd like me to handle the upload and order placing just let me know. Cheers, Nanc
Hi everyone. I'm new to the club and was planning on being at the class tomorrow. My dumb ass didn't sign up till today, though, and was reading that it's a 4 batch max. There are 7 people signed up total. Does that mean I need to pair up with someone or can I still brew if I bring all the ingredients. Thanks for your help!
Does anyone have the fryer basket for and accessories for Turkey frying? I am looking to borrow someone's for Thanksgiving. I have a burner already, just need the frying parts.
We have had multiple (and quite justified) threads to note when folks haven't properly cleaned up after themselves, but I'd like to offer a contrast: kudos to the crew who cleaned up before and after the party, and also to those who brewed this past Saturday, 11/9! When I got to the brewhouse yesterday morning, it was clean and well-organized. More work still needs to be done on storage and organization, but overall things looked pretty great.
Thanks to everyone for doing their part to get and keep the brewhouse in great condition!
So anyone who has been using the brewhouse for a little bit has either wanted to know if someone or anyone was there when they wanted to check on their beer or has been asked if they didn't clean/ put back / whatever something.
After a few circumstances of brewers being accused some something no one did, a few days of coming into a really dirty brew space, and a few nights of wondering if anyone is hanging out at our new bar so I can go join them, I'd like to float an idea.
We've talked about cameras in the past, but they have been very expensive....no longer
