CHAOS was founded by a group of enthusiastic homebrewers who wanted to share knowledge, equipment and space in the pursuit of better beer. Creating and maintaining this vision take a tremendous amount of work. Alchemist is the term given to recognize our members who make significant contributions to our club.
I mentioned this website last night at happy hour (LetsPour.com) which some of you haven't heard of, so I thought I'd share the love. They ship hard to find/coveted beers direct to you (from 4 states), free shipping (when you buy 6 beers), and $15 off total when you buy a case, any 12 beers, even mix-in-match (as long as everything is shipping from the same state). Don't freak out when your cart totals over a hundred... remember its still cheaper then a flight to Russian River or Cigar City! So buy yourself some cheer... Merry Christmas / Happy Hanukkah to you!
Discussion for ideas on putting together a club booth at the 2014 AHA National Homebrew Conference in Grand Rapids, MI on June 12 - 14. This is a sister thread to our preparations on trying to give a talk about CHAOS here.
Ideas tossed around thus far:
Barrel Aged Beers
Take Keezer or Jockey Boxes
Lets keep the discussion going, I'll keep this updated with ideas and thoughts.
I was wondering if at any point this month you will be offering gift card/membership options? I would like to purchase a Trial Membership for my husband for Christmas, but am hesitant to do so right now since I'm assuming the trial period would start immediately AND I would have to use his name and e-mail address (thus ruining the surprise!) Not sure if this was a possibility, but thought I'd ask...thank you in advance for your response!
I am planning on going to the conference this year, which is being held in next door, in Grand Rapids, MI. Wondering if anyone else was planning on attending? I also thought this would be a good opportunity for CHAOS to get seen on a Regional and National Level.
They are looking for speakers and/or posters on different topic areas, they are listed below. Specifically I thought someone might like to speak about forming and maintaining a club, but there are various other topic areas too. Deadline is this week for submissions. Here are the links to the site for more details.
I was going through our old Google Docs and found one from a year ago listing our "Initatives" and I got a bit nostalgic. I'm proud of what we've accomplished!
I need a couple people to help with a competition this Saturday. No experience is needed. It will be a great way to learn how competitions are run. Breakfast and lunch provided! It will be at 1224 W Webster Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 (773) 248-0900
