Southern Grist Brewing tap takeover at The Green Lady

Forums:

Had to dust off my login to say hi and check in! I was an active member from 2011-2014 when I moved to Nashville. I since have started brewing full time for Southern Grist. The 3 owners will be in Chicago next week and while I won’t be in town I wanted to let you guys know about a tap takeover. We’re hosting it at The Green Lady next Monday evening (1/7). We will have 7 or 8 different beers on tap. I’d love if some members could make it out to try the beers. If you do I’d love to hear what you think. Hoping to make it back soon for CHAOS event. Cheers! Thanks!

For those of you who haven't participated in a competition, but are interested in seeing how they work, this is a great opportunity to judge or steward. Please register on the competition site, if you wish to do either.

Fond du Lac Brew Fest

Forums:

We breifly touched on this at the last meeting, but I wanted to confirm interest or non-interest in participating in the Homebrew Alley at the Fond du Lac Brew Fest on Saturday, Febraury 2nd. (See attached flier.) They've actually reached out to us specifically to take part in the event, so it would be cool to do. It is in Wisconsin, though, so there will be travel involved. I know Rich is up for it, so we only need two or three other members to join him. Post below if you'd like to participate and take CHAOS on the road.

Forums:

Plan on hanging out at the brewhouse this Friday night for the announcement of the top three places for the Tropical Stout competition.  The judging session begins at 6 pm and the announcements will probably happen sometime around 8:30.  Drink beer from the keezer, bring other bottles to share, and we'll order pizza for everyone.  Everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring a date.

We are trying to support one of our members who has been diagnosed with cancer. In order to support him and his family, PALE is organizing a Rare Beer Raffle. Tickets can be purchased via PayPal  at treasurer@palebrewers.org. Tickets are $5 a piece or 5 tickets for $20.
